Closed Rhinoplasty
Dr Steve Byrd, Dallas Plastic and Cosmetic Surgeon, discusses closed rhinoplasty techniques.
The term closed rhinoplasty is used to designate a rhinoplasty or nose job performed using internal or intranasal incisions. These incisions fail to give the same level of visual exposure to the tip of the nose as an open rhinoplasty provides. On the other hand, there is less disturbance to the tip with the closed approach. Because of this I select patients who have essentially normal nasal tips for closed rhinoplasty. The ideal patient would have a well shaped tip and symmetric structures with overall good support. A small hump on the bridge may be the main concern.
